OUR STORY

mission

At HAY, we believe that wellbeing starts with a simple question: How Are You? This small, yet powerful, phrase reflects our mission to create a space where people feel truly heard and supported to thrive.

HAY wellbeing, Caroline Roden, Gillian McLaughlin

HAY was born from a shared recognition of the growing need for accessible mental health and wellbeing support.

Faced with long NHS waiting lists and a lack of contemporary wellness and  mental health care options, we envisioned creating a space where individuals could receive timely, effective support in a welcoming and therapeutic environment.

Gillian McLaughlin, HAY Wellbeing

Gillian
McLaughlin

Gillian is a highly experienced wellbeing professional with over 20 years of expertise in supporting individuals through trauma, adversity, and life’s challenges. A registered social worker, she has spent the past decade working as a Wellbeing Advisor in higher education, helping students navigate mental health, stress, and personal growth.

Gillian specializes in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), mental health mentoring, and somatic massage, offering a holistic approach to emotional and physical wellbeing. She is passionate about the mind-body connection and integrates neuroscience-backed techniques into her practice to help clients achieve deep and lasting change.

Beyond her therapeutic work, Gillian is fascinated by the relationship between home and mental health. As a professional home organizer and stylist, she helps people create spaces that support their wellbeing, recognizing that a cluttered home often mirrors a cluttered mind. Her approach combines practical organization with emotional support, helping clients feel more in control of their surroundings and, ultimately, their lives.

With a bubbly and engaging personality, Gillian brings warmth, enthusiasm, and professionalism to every session. She is deeply committed to empowering others, creating safe spaces for transformation, and making wellness accessible and achievable for all.
